Scripture printed text: Proverbs 9:1-18Solomon the writer talks about two major themes; wisdom and folly. Wisdom is knowledge, understanding, discretion, obedience and instructions based on God’s word. Folly on the other hand, is everything that contradicts wisdom. These two are both are in opposition of each other. Wisdom gives an invitation to come and receive godly wisdom for right living, while folly’s invitation is for temporary pleasures of this world. Solomon says that it is easy to distinguish between the two because those who embrace correction will increase in understanding. Those who despise corrections are foolish and will yield to the consequences of sin.Church, let us choose wisdom and forsake folly. The bible teaches that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Wisdom leads to a path of righteousness, instruction and fruitful life. But foolishness despises corrections.
