Scripture printed text: Revelations 11:15-19

Lesson Outline:

  1. The Worship (Revelations 11:15-18)
  2. The Wonder (Revelations 11:19)

The apostle John writes the revelation of Jesus Christ on things that shortly must come. The angel of the Lord instructs John to write what he sees, while he’s in the spirit. Seven seals are being opened and John is an eye witness to what God is showing them.

Revelation chapter eleven, beginning at verse three, John sees two witnesses given power to prophesy for 1,260 days. After the two witnesses finish their testimony, the beast comes out of the bottomless pit and wage war with them, overcome and kill them. But after three and a half days the Spirit of life from God entered into them and they stood on their feet and great fear fell upon them which saw them. A voice came from heaven saying come up and they ascended up into the clouds and their enemies beheld them.

Then the seventh angel sounded, and there were great voices in heaven saying Christ reigns forever and ever. The twenty four elders that sat before God got up from their seats and fell on their faces and worshipped God. These elders saying they give thanks to the Lord who is almighty, which is He who was, who is and is to come. The heavenly host of angels, elders and beasts acknowledged God in total praise and worship.

God reigns and rules over all His creation and He gives rewards unto His servants, prophets and saints that fear His name. Believers worship the Lord, because He’s great and greatly to be praise, both now and forever.

Then in heaven, the temple of God was opened and there was seen the Ark of the Covenant, and lightning and voices and thundering, earthquake and a great hailstorm. Heavenly tabernacle and the temple symbolize God’s presence among His people. The Ark of the Covenant is the very center of that symbol. God’s presence provides shelter from the storms of life and protects us with the assurance that we are never alone.

When God is worshipped, is like an eruption of lightning flashing, thunder crashing and roaring.

In heaven, all of those there will cease not to praise Him who reigns upon the throne night and day. True worshippers worship the true and living God in spirit and in truth.
