Printed scripture text: Revelation 7:9-17
The Apostle John out on the island of Patomos, writes the book of Revelation. John is given some insight on future events. God reveals to him things that must come to pass. In chapter seven, John records what he witness, four angels are placed on the four ends of the earth, and given specific instructions of holding the four winds of the earth. A seal to be placed on the foreheads and the great multitudes before God’s throne praising His name.

John sees an angel ascending from the east with the seal of the living God crying out to the four angels. Saying, hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees until the all the servants receive the seal in their foreheads. The number of those who were sealed 144 thousand, which represents the tribes of Judah. After that, there was a great multitude of people which no man could number, from all nations, kindred, and tongues all stood before the throne clothes with white robes and palms in their hands.
Those dressed in white robes and palms in their hands, they cried with a loud voice, saying salvation to our God who sits upon the throne and unto the Lamb. The great crowd of people waved palm leaves as a sign of celebration and victory unto God for His great salvation. Our praise to God is for His saving work through His Son Jesus on the cross. Salvation is God’s gift to us. We too should approach His throne with adoration and appreciation for all He’s done for us.
John now sees the angels; the messengers of God standing around God’s throne, elders and four beasts fell on their faces worshipping God. Saying blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and might be unto the Lord God forever. Amen. There was a great choir in God’s presence leads the inhabitants around the throne in singing praise, thanking and worshipping God. Before the throne of God, we should cease not to give Him the highest adoration in all that we do as we worship God.
John, informs us of those who are clothed in white robes, are those who come out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. Jesus is the Lamb of God, who gave His life and shedded His blood for the remission of sin. Those who by faith accept the lamb that was slain are made right with God. Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb once and for all to take away the stain of sin. The multitude of people receives eternal rewards from a eternal God.
God promised to feed His people and lead unto living fountains of waters, and wipe away all tears from their eyes. Whatever we are faced with, tested and tried, we live out our lives of service to God. Even in the midst of trials, and tribulations, we can worship, praise, sing and offer thanksgiving unto God. Because one day, we all will be in His presence before His throne worshipping His forever. Praise ye the Lord!
